height of a triangle

In this blog we are going to discuss about how to find height of a triangle.Also see the link to know more kinds of triangles.

The base & height of a triangle should be perpendicular to each other. The area of the triangle can be found from the area of the triangle formula since it makes use of the base & height of triangle.
Area = base x height / 2
So the height of triangle will be calculated as,

Height = 2 x Area/ base

Find the height of the triangle:

Given

Base = 12 c m

Area = 144 cm2

Solution:

Height = ?

Plug in the values of B as well as a in to the formula.

Area of triangle = ½ bh b = base; h = height; a = area of triangle.

Crossing our 2 and 12 we get 6.

144= ½ * 12 * h

Divide the 6 on both sides we get

144 = 6*h

144/6 = 6*h/6

Crossing out 6 on 6 right hand side we get

Crossing our 144/6 we get 24.

144/6 = H

H =24
